Sacred music – is music sacred for you?
In all ancient traditions music has a sacred role, some developed special techniques of rattling, some drumming, some singing and chanting.
There are tales from the Sami people, whose drums were burned, because upcoming Christianity feared the magical power of their drumming. As a result, they developed singing. Have you heard the Sami sing?
During my Ayahuasca ceremony, when the Ayahuasciero starts to rattle and sing, the magic increases many-fold.
Music is the universal language of love. We might understand it in very different ways, but we all understand this language and speak it – if we want to.
Abracadabra, the spoken word chanted is especially powerful. It became the synonymous for magic. This kind of magic we find in chanting mantras.
Soon we will have ARUN SARDANA / facilitator, BHASKAR DAS / bansuri and AMIT MISHRA / tabla in Bucharest and Cluj, who will perform Indian sacred music and chanting.
Compositions of Indian music with healing potential, called “RAGA” combined with the science of psychology and positive statements, for the emotional well-being and mental health of modern man.
The event is offered by Karuna, a social enterprise founded in the USA, focused on transformative experiences of connecting to the Inner Child through playful techniques and practices inspired by contemplative science and ancient wisdom.

Starting from the therapeutic effects of the “ragas” of ancient Indian music, Karuna designed and recorded 104 meditative statements for 52 emotional states and human qualities such as gratitude, freedom, creativity, beauty, peace, but also fear, anger, sadness, loneliness. Some of them will be presented for the first time in LIVE format, with the presence of musicians and narrator, during the events that will take place in Romania.
The chosen theme is the liberation of the inner child, the connection with the innocence and the sacred luminosity that lies in the depths of each one. We are conditioned to focus on the negative aspects, to “live” in our minds and to use only our brain, a tool for dissection and analysis. We select negative titles from our past and live the narrative like a victim. Positive affirmations and contemplation have the power to reconnect us with inner wisdom, which can enlighten our perception of our place in the world. Through these tools we learn to write new titles and chapters in our lives, and when these scientifically created reflections and statements are combined with healing, emotionally liberating music, the result can change the “narrative” in subtle but meaningful ways.
This journey to the inner light will be guided, by sound, by BHASKAR DAS, on bans (Indian bamboo flute) and AMIT MISHRA, on board, two prominent representatives of the classical music tradition of northern India.
The facilitator will be ARUN SARDANA, CEO and founder of karuna & Karuna Happiness Foundation (USA), Master in Clinical Psychology, Columbia University in New York.
